When looking for a house to buy, it is so important to KNOW you feel right in that space and you know you're meant to be there. For me, one of the biggest signs I had and feeling I had was seeing this industrial shelf that the previous owner had installed. I love the industrial decorating and furniture style that has been a trend the past few years and I knew wherever I lived, I would incorporate that theme somehow. When I saw this shelf, I knew it belonged to me! It's so funny that the biggest sign was this simple shelf, but when you know you know, I guess ;)

I wish I could say I DIY'ed this shelf and break down that process for you, but I did not. With some simple pieces of wood and piping from Home Depot or Lowe's and patience, I'm sure that would do the trick!

Decorating the shelf has been so fun, but also a design challenge! There are SOO many different things that I can fit on there, but I think it's also important to keep spaces like this simply beautiful with the decorations. I started with the clocks and lanterns I already had and added sentimental things (CSU cup & GO RAMS), informational things (WiFi password, today's date lol) and some things I just love : magnolia table cook book, anyone?!
