w e l c o m e to the revamp, renewal, & lets hit "resume" on my blog. I am EXCITED to share what has inspired me recently and what space my creativity has been shown through. This is a new space for me and I'm ready for it.
For as long as I can remember, I have always been into fashion, shopping, style , etc. Recently, especially with this blogging break I took, I found that my love and passion for it has been fading. Not to say that I do not enjoy it at all anymore, but that inspiration lacking. I don't know why, maybe it's the way this world has taken the fashion industry that is just not appealing or maybe it is just the simple fact that my desires can change. I still love to dress in a way that expresses who I am and my creativity, but I would like to reveal that the emphasis of the creative aspect of this blog is shifting a little bit. I want to share not only creativity in my personal style, but creativity as a whole!
I guess I will start by sharing where this new creative outlet was planted. Home shopping is one of my absolute favorite things to do. I remember when I was 7, my parents were looking at homes every weekend after church and I LOVED it! I can't even explain why. My siblings and I would run around to find the bedrooms in the houses and "claimed" the one we wanted. It was so fun to explore new houses and spaces and to see how they were designed and put together.
It was sometime in high school, I started pinteresting home designs, home decorations, home architecture, really anything related to houses. In college, I downloaded the "Zillow" app and I was so interested in the housing. I searched and looked at the housing markets in all my dream cities to live in (New York, Dallas, Denver etc). I would explore model homes on the weekends for fun, just to look at furniture, decoration, and how different things came together. It was something about being in the space that really got me excited. Going to model homes is what really inspired me to dream of one day owning my own house.
I graduated in 2016, I moved back to my parents house in Denver but I wanted to move out right away! I looked into renting all kinds of places but I quickly got discouraged when I realized that the monthly rent for most places in the Denver area is equivalent to paying a monthly mortgage on a house, WHYYYY THOUGH?!?! I was frustrated with that, so I chose to intentionally save my money to be able to have down payment. I worked hard and saved the majority of my money I earned working. I stripped myself of the lavish [but bargain filled haha] shopping sprees I used to enjoy, eating out, and I just saved. I had a dream and I knew this was the only way to achieve it. At the end of 2017, I was able to buy a house. And although that seems quick, it was all God's timing. I always had the desire to have a warm space to entertain and to express my gift of hospitality. God blessed me with this space to welcome my family & friends and those who need to be loved in my community.
So I have the space and this gift of hospitality. In order to be hospitable, I needed to have a welcoming and warm ambiance. And that is where the fruit of my creativity can be seen! I have loved creating this atmosphere in my house that is welcoming, comfortable and warm. I get to share that creativity through this outlet here on my blog, Instagram, and other social media outlets!!
My intent in sharing is to inspire and motivate. I want to inspire others that need visual representation of other people's home decorations and motivate people to pursue their dreams intentionally like I did!
So..... WELCOME!!
Where can you expect to see this new stuff?
